Your journey begins with your arrival in Manali, a beautiful hill station in Himachal Pradesh, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and lush green valleys. After checking into your hotel, take some time to relax and acclimate to the high altitude. An early start today takes you through the remarkable Atal Tunnel, the world’s longest highway tunnel above 10,000 feet. As you emerge from the tunnel, you will be greeted by the breathtaking landscape of Lahaul Valley. Continue your drive towards the majestic Kunzum Pass (4,551 meters), one of the highest motorable passes, offering panoramic views of towering peaks and glaciers. From here, you’ll descend into the isolated and serene Spiti Valley, eventually arriving at Kaza, the main town of the valley. Settle into your hotel for an overnight stay in Kaza.

Start your day with a visit to Tabo Monastery, one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in the Himalayas, known for its ancient murals and sculptures, often referred to as the "Ajanta of the Himalayas." Afterward, proceed to Dhankar Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff, offering stunning views of the confluence of the Spiti and Pin Rivers. For the adventurous, a hike to the high-altitude Dhankar Lake is highly recommended, offering a peaceful retreat and breathtaking vistas. After soaking in the beauty of these spiritual and natural wonders, return to Kaza for the night.

Today’s journey is a cultural and scenic exploration of the remote villages and monasteries of Spiti. First, visit Langza, known for its fossils and the giant Buddha statue that watches over the valley. Then head to Komik, the highest motorable village in Asia, where you can explore the Komik Monastery. Continue to Hikkim, home to the world’s highest post office, where you can send postcards to friends and family from an altitude of 4,400 meters. In the afternoon, visit the iconic Ki Monastery, a stunning hilltop complex with panoramic views of the valley, followed by Kibber Village, one of the highest inhabited villages in the world. After an enriching day of exploration, return to Kaza for the night.

Bid farewell to Kaza as you head towards the enchanting Chandratal Lake, also known as the “Moon Lake.” The drive offers breathtaking views of the rugged Spiti landscape, and upon arrival at Chandratal, you’ll be captivated by the serene beauty of this high-altitude lake surrounded by towering peaks. Spend your afternoon walking around the lake or simply soaking in the tranquility of this magical place. Tonight, enjoy an overnight camping experience under the stars near Chandratal Lake, a memory that will last a lifetime.

After a peaceful night by the lake, it’s time to begin your journey back to Manali. Drive through the stunningly rugged terrain, passing through Batal and the scenic Sissu Village in Lahaul Valley. You’ll pass through the Atal Tunnel again before returning to Manali. Upon reaching Manali, the adventure ends, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your Spiti Valley experience.
